There are more than 50 English sound descriptions for TuxPaint stamps, mostly animals.
Below is what you must do to add sounds, in your language, to TuxPaint stamps.
- Archive English sound descriptions are located at subdirectories of /usr/share/tuxpaint/stamps (their names end with _desc.ogg, say gander_desc.ogg)
- Unpack the resulting archive without saving full path (so you get a full list and know what to record)
- Record corresponding sound descriptions in your language
- Arrange each description as a separate OGG file (32 kbps, 1 channel, 44,1 kHz) [1]
- Name it as ***_desc_xx.ogg where *** is an appropriate English name for the sound and xx is two-letter name of your language (so resulting file would be gander_desc_ru.ogg)
- Create /stamps directory structure at your PC. Just unpack archive with English sound descriptions, then search for *.ogg files at /stamps directory including subdirectories and delete all files found [2].
- Put resulting files in appropriate directories and archive /stamps directory and subdirectories
- Send archive to Jean-Michel
Note that except English there are sounds for ca, fr and nl.
Possibly some sound descriptions already exist in your language, then the procedure will be a bit different.
- Archive sound descriptions in your language located at subdirectories of /usr/share/tuxpaint/stamps/animals (its names contain _desc_xx.ogg, say gander_desc_it.ogg)
- Archive English sound descriptions located at subdirectories of /usr/share/tuxpaint/stamps/animals (its names contain _desc.ogg, say gander_desc.ogg)
- Unpack and compare these archives to find out which sound descriptions in your language are missing
- Go to step 3 of previous scenario
